Asparagus

What is asparagus?

It's a green or white vegetable, typical for its long, pointy spears, which are commonly steamed, grilled or roasted. Asparagus is kown as springtime vegetable, because its season runs from April to June.



Difference between green and white asparagus?

White asparagus is grown underground, it is fully covered in soil and gets no sunlight. Weares green asparagus is grown above the ground, it gets sunlight, which means it produce chlorophyll. However, there is no difference in taste between these two variations, both are slightly bitter and mild with a dash of sweetness.
